Malhotra does recommend silk attire for the bride. Of course, the jewelry is very important as well. In ancient times, gold was a symbol of wealth and prosperity and signified a family’s wealth and status. Tradition, trends, and the unique personal taste of each bride all play a role in determining the pieces she will wear on her special day. We particularly loved what Sarah chose, I mean, look at her. She’s stunning right? To see more images from this wedding, please check out their curated sneak peek under my “photo” tab in the menu.

Sarah and Ish reached out, looking for a Colorado based wedding photographer that could photograph their unique Hindu traditional wedding celebration. Count me in! There is no other ceremony that comes close visually when seeing all the traditional bright colors, intricate jewelry, and timeless traditions. This wedding was something very special and heart warming.

I wish

Fire is a significant focal point within Hindu wedding ceremonies. Hindus believe that, through flame, one can obtain purity of heart and mind. The fire is regarded as a purifier that serves as a sustainer of life. This ritual is called a Mangalfera; the bride and groom take laps around the flame while praying and exchanging their vows. The family cast offerings into the fire to honor the marriage. Upon completion, their marriage is sealed forever.

After the ceremony, Sarah and Ish changed into Western traditional attire to attend their reception. Cake, Toasts, and dancing concluded this union in style!
